Privacy Policy
SubKill is a subscription finder operated by Andrii Maidanyk (maydanikas@gmail.com). This policy explains how SubKill accesses, uses, stores, and shares Google user data.
What SubKill does
SubKill scans your Gmail for receipts, trials, and known subscription mail, then shows forgotten or expensive subscriptions and cancel options. It does not send email, delete mail, or change your inbox.
Google data we access
When you tap Connect Gmail, Google asks you to grant:
gmail.readonly— read message lists, headers (From, Subject, Date), snippets, and selected message bodies to find receipts and cancel linksopenid, email, profile— your Google email, name, and profile photo
We request read-only access. We cannot send, modify, or delete your mail.
How we use that data
Google user data is used only to provide SubKill’s user-facing features:
- detect paid subscriptions and trials from mail
- estimate cost and a Waste Score
- show a cancel link, a cancel-email draft you send yourself, or store instructions
We do not use Gmail data for advertising, credit scoring, or training AI models. Use of Google user data complies with Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where data is stored
- The Google access token stays in your browser (
sessionStorage) for this session. - A scan summary (email address, detected subscriptions, and short mail snippets) may be stored in your browser (
localStorage) so the last scan can be shown again on this device. - Gmail API requests run from your browser to Google. SubKill does not operate a mail-processing backend that receives your inbox.
The site is hosted on Vercel. The host may keep ordinary technical logs (IP address, user agent, URL) for security and uptime. Those logs are not Gmail message contents.
Sharing
We do not sell Google user data. We do not share Gmail contents with advertisers or data brokers. We share data only if required by law, or with a processor that is strictly necessary to run the website (currently Vercel for hosting).
Retention and deletion
Browser storage can be cleared by signing out of the tab, clearing site data, or using your browser settings. Revoke SubKill in your Google Account permissions to stop future Gmail access.
Your choices
- You can use the in-app demo without connecting Gmail.
- You can refuse Google access; SubKill will not scan your mail.
- Questions or deletion requests: maydanikas@gmail.com.
Children
SubKill is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If how we use Google user data changes, we will update this page and the date above.
